Starogard Gdański was never an easy arena for Asseco Arka Gdynia during the league matches. This time, it was no different. Polpharma did not yield and fought on against the yellow and blues.
The match was very even, the quarters ended in minimal advantage of one of the teams and only at the finishing line did Asseco manage to pull a 104:100 victory.

Coach Artur Gronka's team had a good start and aim for a swift lead from the start. Filip Dylewicz, returning from an injury, showed his good side (4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block), as did Robert Upshaw (15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks) in the defense. The main offensive power of Arka was the three shooters: three-point champion Deividas Dulkys (10 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal), the incredible Josh Bostic (27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal) and James Florence (24 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal). Despite Gdynia's good game, the first quarter ended with a loss 26:24.

The next quarter was a war of attrition. Bostic and Upshaw were joined in the attack by Arka's captain Krzysztof Szubarga (12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists) and Jakub Garbacz (7 points, 3 rebounds). The dynamic game continued until the 17th minute, when Upshaw pushed over the yellow-and-blue advantage of 44:43. The guests managed to maintain and increase their advantage from there on out, and after free shots by Adam Łapeta (3 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block) the score in the 27th minute was a 10 point advantage of Arka.

The next quarter was an intense fight by the Kociewiaks. In the 37th minute, Polpharma was loosing only 89:90, but that changed when Bostic scored a three pointer, and Garbacz shot for two, giving Asseco a major jump ahead (101:95). The hosts did what they could. Farmaceuci went for tactical fauls, but free shots delivered by Szubarga and Garbacz were the final nails in the coffin and Asseco Arka Gdynia won against Polpharma 104:100.

That was a hard, even match, ultimately decided by a better support from the benches (39 to 23) and better two point aims (53 to 45 percent).

A good win. Up next, Friday 7th of December, another strong rival - David Dedek and TBV Start Lublin.
