On this cold Sunday evening, Asseco Arka Gdynia took on a team from the middle of the Energa Basket Liga - HydroTruck Radom, right at Gdynia Arena. It was a contest between ex team players, and now coaches, Robert Witka and Przemysław Frasunkiewicz. Defeat belongs to the first of those, while Frasunkiewicz and the yellow-and-blues can enjoy another league success, defeating the Radom geusts 100:73.

The away team were highly motivated. Radom played a game without considering the superior foe, and to them belonged the first points of the match. In response, the yellow-and-blues began their handling of the ball, pass by pass creating new opportunities for new players. Deividas Dulkys (17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals) grabbed at the chance and gathered 8 points in just a minute, setting the hosts in a 8:4 advantage.

HydroTruck was on the offensive, but Asseco managed a great defense and lethal counter. Josh Bostic (16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block) was on a roll. The US sniper was the main point of concern for the rivals defense, delivering passes to team members and scoring points. Under the basket fought Adam Łapeta (7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals), while a lot of energy and motivation was visible in the duo of Krzysztof Szubarga (14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists) and Marcel Ponitka (6 points, 1 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals). The quarter was ended by the indispensable Dulkys, setting the score to 31:15 for Arka.

The next quarters showed an unquestionable domination by the yellow-and-blues. Jakub Garbacz (9 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal) joined the fight, along with the merciless blocker Dariusz Wyka (9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks). The second quarter saw Gdynia in a moment of weakness, which resulted in a 14:20 loss. The guests showed character and a will to fight, managing to regain the advantage despite the strong defense of the host team. Both team left for the break with a 45:35 score for Asseco.

After some rest, Gdynia went to work. James Florence (12 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists) came in in style, supported by Filip Dylewicz (7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal). The popular Dylu, celebrating his birthday recently, is still coming back from his injury, and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Third and fourth quarter ended respectively in 29:15 and 26:23 scores, with a strong win by Asseco Arka Gdynia 100:73.

Coach Frasunkiewicz let all of his players on the court today, including the talented youth. Grzegorz Kamiński played for 11 minutes, scoring 3 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal, while Maciej Leszczyński, in half that time, managed a rebound and an assist.

It seems that the yellow-and-blue's game is evolving, maturing and becoming more confident. The teamwork is astonishing, with a nice selection of throws and a solid defense. Things are looking up for the most important part of the season and the Polish Tournament Finals. A couple of away games before that though, with the first this Sunday, 3rd of February in Warsaw.
