History in the making!

A year to be remembered. In 1995 STK Trefl was created, the Sopot Basketball Association (Sopockie Towarzystwo Koszykówki). Who would have fought that after 24 years the club would have 13 Polish championship medals!

The Association was incorporated on the 30th of June thanks to Kazimierz Wierzbicki, who after gaining the Polish championship in the all-women team of Spójna Gdańsk as a coach, wanted to get back to basketball. Along with Wojciech Pietkiewicz and Jan Meyer - they have established the club. Trainings were organized in Gdynia, which served to find the basketball talent.

The greatest star of the team became Wojciech kukuczka, who previously played for Pogoń Sosnowiec and ASPRO Wrocław. A true sensation among the IIIrd league team was the US Chad Faulkner. On a small, academic court nr XII in the Gdańsk's AWF scores of fans arrived. Everybody wanted to see the US player and Trefl, who in the first season did not lose a single match. In March of 1996 during the tournament played in Gdańsk the team advanced to the IInd league by defeating MKS Sokół Międzychód and reserves of Instal Białystok and Mazowszanka Pruszków.
