Asseco Arka Gdynia has begun the new seasonw with a win in the EBL and defeated in an away match PGE Spójnia 76:65. Now it's time for a much tougher, 7DAYS EuroCup game.

Coach Przemysław Frasunkiewicz's team is off to the German Oldenburg, to face off against the fifth team of the BBL, EWE Baskets.

It's hard to determine the quality of the hosts, since they have played only two matches. Both of those it were won, against Oliver Wuzburg (90:82) and HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim (86:75).

Currently, the best among the Germans, led by coach Mladen Drijencic, is the 210 cm tall Rasid Mahlbasic (16.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 9.0 assists). He is supported by a pair of US forwards, Rickey Paulding (15.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists) and Nathan Boothe (15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds), whereas the playmaking is handled by the tall (196 cm) US player Braydon Hobbs (10.0 points, 6.0 rebound, 8.0 assists, 1.0 steals).

Additional points are provided by Robin Amaize (11.0 points, 2.0 assists) and forward Philipp Schwethelm (6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals).

It is looking up to be a fierce match, with a lot of attention given to the front/backcourt players. Stopping Mahalbasic may be the priority, who is not only perfectly built, but also technically equipped.

We wish the yellow-and-blues good luck. The match will take place on Tuesday, 1st of October, at 20:00. We are Asseco!
