It's an exciting time for Asseco Arka Gdynia fans. First Gdynia has defeated PGE Spójnia Stargard (76:65) in Energa Basket Liga, and later they have won an away match in Oldenburg against EWE Baskets (78:74), and now it is time for the derby.

The yellow-and-blues have met Trefl Sopot in the pre season matches and won, but the stakes are higher now. Sopot, under coach Marci Stefański's leadership, have their first league win to their name, after defeating King Szczecin (90:77).

Botch coaches prefer a balanced team composition, where long distance throws are balanced with penetration and close quarter play. The opponents must be ready for the threat coming from any direction, not allowing the defense to slip and being constantly vigilant.

The main scorers in Trefl are the two US players, defender Cameron Ayers (16 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists) and the experienced playmaker Carlos Medlock (16 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals). Next up is the experienced Polish center Paweł leończyk (10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists) and supporting him is the US player Nana Foulland (13 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block).

The center of attention in Sopot's team are the Kolenda brothers. Łukas (14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists) is great at playmaking, whereas the older Michał (10 points, 1 rebound) supports him with points as a forward. Their performance is crucial to Trefl's success.

Waiting for the chance is the US forward Jeff Roberson (6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals) and Witalij Kowalenko (5 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist).

The younger players are also waiting for their chance, including Karol Kamiński (1 assist), previously of Gdynia.

It is looking up to be an exciting league match, with no unwanted elements as we hope. See you on Friday, 4th of October at 17:30 at Gdynia Arena. Your presence is required in blue. We are Asseco!
