Beginning of the season is a very challenging time for Asseco Arka Gdynia. The yellow-and-blues are playing twice a week, alternating between EBL and the 7DAYS EuroCup. Gdynia did not manage on their home turf, loosing to GTK Gliwice (78:87). This might lead to more motivation for the next match, that is happening on the 16th of October at 19:45, against Buducnostia VOLI Podgorica.

The Montenegro team is led by the Slovenian Slobodan Subotica, and did not enjoy a good start, loosting both of their matches: against Unicaja Malga (70:83) and Dolomiti Energia Trento (68:77).

Asseco has one more victory to their name, due to their defeat of EWE Baskets Oldenburg (78:74) and loosing to Unicaja Malga (59:66). One win and one loss makes Gdynia 4th in the D group table, one please lower then our new rivals.

The main offensive force of Budocnosti is the US thrower Justin Cobbs (17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.0 steals), supported by his countrymen Scott Bamfortyh (15.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists). These two are suported by the center Danilo Nikolic (9.0 points, 3 rebounds) and Martin Meiers (6.0 points, 1.0 rebounds) and another American, forward Hassan Martin (7.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 2.0 blocks).

On the bench await center Zoran Nikolic (4.5 points, 3.5 rebounds), experienced forward Suad Sehovic (3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds) and younger by 10 years Aleks Ilic (3.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists).

The hosts showcase hard, physical basketball along with great defenders and US forwards.

It appears that the Montenegro team is within our capability and with proper motivation, Asseco may garner yet another away victory.
