7DAYS EuroCup might be on a two week break, but Asseco Arka Gdynia players are not resting and this Thursday, 28th of November, they are of to Zielona Góra for a hard EBL match against Stelmet Enea BC.
Zan Tabak's players are not doing great in the Russian VTB league (3 wins of 7 matches played), but are doing well back home with 7 wins and 2 losses and a second place in the table. In their latest engagements, Stelmet defeated HydroTruck Radom 106:83, MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza 97:81 and King Szczecin 108:85.
The yellow-and-blues led by Przemysław Frasunkiewicz are a win behind (6 to 3) and are fifth in the table. Gdynia has recently defeated Legia Warszawa 81:66 and Enea Astoria Bydgoszcz 81:72.
The leader of the offensive for Stelmet is the forward Jarosław Zyskowski (16.2 points, 3.7 rebound, 1.7 assists). Among the first five there are also the Swedish playmaker Ludvig Hakanson (10.9 points, 2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.1 steals) and two US players, Tony Meier (10.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals) and Joe Thomasson (8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.3 steals). They are supported by Przemysław Zamojski (12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists) and the defense is handeled by Ivic Radić (12.7 points, 6.2 rebounds) and Drew Gordon (10.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists).
Marcel Ponitka (8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.1 steals) is doing great, coming from Gdynia, whereas the leader of passing is another national representative, Łukasz Koszarek (4.8 points, 4.8 assists).
The hosts are a tough nut to crack with an even composition. Stelmet is very offense focused (an average of 96 points per match), plays well as a team (26 assists) and has great accuracy (42.5%). They also enjoy only slightly worse statistics in defense as compared to Asseco.
