In the 12th round of the Energa Basket Liga Asseco Arka is in for a real challenge. Our team will face off against Polish Champion - Zastal Enea BC Zielona Gora at their own turf, this Wednesday at 20:30.

Looking at the official EBL tables, one could think that Zastal has had a rough start this season, as it currently occupies the 8th place. All due to the corona and the matches in the VTB league, which make it hard to adjust to the constant reschedulings. Most teams have 10 games behind them, but coach Zan Tabaka and his team have only 8, 7 of which have been won. The rival should not be underestimated.

In terms of their composition, Zastal is one of the best teams in the country and remains a safe bet as the ultimate champion. The team is handled by forward Iffie Lundber. The Danish player is definitely among the best point guards in the league (16.1 points, 6 assists, 2 steals). His colleagues are not far behind - a great front court duo of Geoffrey Groselle (14.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 60% of game time) and Blake Reynolds (13.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals).

The support is delivered by forwards: Janis Berzins, Kris Richard and the well known in Gdynia Marcel Ponitka, an excellent defender. One should not forget about another ex-Gdynia player, Łukasz Koszarek. The 36 year old vet is still capable of going out there and delivering a lot of points, which he has proven in the match against Legia Warszawa, where he garnered 15 points.

One can see the striking potential also in the team statistics. The team scores an average of 88.6 points per match, which makes the best in the league. What is more impressive, their defense is high-quality stuff as well, with the least amount of losses in the whole of EBL (only 74).

Will coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz and his team be able to overcome the reigning champion? The match will take place on the 4th of November at 20:30 at the CRS hall in Zielona Gora. It will be available for viewing live at Polsat Sport News.
