Before us is the last match of the season to be played at Gdynia Arena. This Wednesday, our opponent will be Anwil Wloclawek, led by the well known to us Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz. Excitement guaranteed!
After the change to the match against PGE Spojnia Stargard, the timetable of coach Piotr Blechacz and his team became a genuine marathon. This Wednesday we will face off against Anwil, followed up by a match against Spojnia on Friday and closing of the 2020/21 season on Sunday against HydroTruck Radom. This season, Anwil could not find balance. The Rottweilers managed to defeat Legia Warszawa (86:78) and Arged BM Slam Stal Ostrow Wlkp (90:71) but yielded to HydroTruck (64:70) or Polpharma Starrogard Gdanski (89:96). At te beginning of this year, coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz moved to Wloclawek, along with his assistant. Changes in the rotation occurred as well.
Time, place: Wednesday, 17th of March at 20:00, Gdynia Arena
Available on: Emocje TV
The Opponent: Anwil Wloclawek, 9-19 win-loss balance, 13th in the table
Playstyle: Since the star of EBL Ivan Alemida left, the role of the first attacker was given to Kyndall Dykes (16.1 points, 3.9 assists, 53% per game). Contracted shortly after Frasunkiewicz, the US player became one of the stars of Anwil. He is a two-way player, a threat both in offense as well as defense. The main playmaker is the contracted from Starogard Gdanski James Washington (14 points, 4 assists, 2 steals). Most of the offensive actions begins with him. The forward position is also held by Curtis Jerrels (12.8 points, 2.1 assists). In the froncourt, Ivic Radic (12.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1 steal) rules, the best rebounder in the league. The Croatian player has created an unstoppable duo with Shawn Jones, who is currently suffering from an injury. Przemyslaw Zamojski (7.9 points, 3 rebounds) and Artur Mielczarek (4.4 points, 1.9) are the only Polish worthy of note in the team currently. The hole left by Krzysztof Sulima was patched with Damian Janiak and Rafal Komenda. Wloclawek's rotation is very thin currently, although we will most likely approach the match with missing players of our own.
Last five matches: 64.70 against Hydro Truck Radom, 67:77 against PGE Spojnia Stargard, 77.93 against Enea Zastal BC Zielona Gora, 96:99 against Enea Astoria Bydgoszcz, 77:75 against Polski Cukier Torun - 1 win, 4 losses.
The key to victory: The most important task ahead of the yellow-and-blues will be coverinc Radic. We must quickly get into a throwing rhythm following our unexpected break. A good disposition of the reserve players is required, as it was a major hobble last time. Who will turn out better? Find out on March 17th, at 20:00. Please support our team!
