The yellow-and-blues were not lucky during the last games, but that stretch seems to be at the end with Asseco Arka Gdynia defeating Legia Warszawa 81:66 at the Gdynia Arena in a Energa Basket Liga match. Legia put the bar quite high, and Asseco was unable to fully confirm a win for 30 minutes.

The teams went at it immediately. Scoring for Arka was opened by Josh Bostic (21 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist). Devonte Upson (16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 4 blocks) was active as well, just as Adam Hrycaniuk (2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals) and Armani Moore (9 points, 1 rebound, 1 block). Arka was attacking, but could not secure a clear advantage. After the first 10 minutes, Legia ended up with 3 points of advantage and a 17:14 score.

The second quarter saw the hosts adjust their accuracy and engage more heavily in the offense. Dariusz Wyka (6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks) went on the attack, with valuable 3 pointers delivered by Arka captain Krzysztof Szubarga (9 points, 3 rebounds, 14 assists), whereas the second half saw Leyton Hammonds (4 points, 6 rebounds) and Ben Emelogu (9 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals) more active. The yellow-and-blues won the second quarter 25:16 and the first half: 39:33.

After the break, Legia responded and took back the advantage, 40:39. A gruelling punchout began. Emelogu and Bartłomiej Wołoszyn (5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist) scored long range, whereas Upson took to the close quarter. Bostic and Wyka saw Asseco taking the lead, although the yellow-and-blues lost the quarter 18:20.

The last ten minutes was a succesful show of play of the hosts. Gdynia, minute by minute, was increasing their advantage and were dominating Legia. Upson was on fire, Szubarga was leading well, Bostic, Emelogu and Moore kept scoring. Arka had wind in their sails and the match was pretty much done at thtat point. Asseco Arka Gdynia defeated on their home court Legia Warszwa 81:66.

Great accuracy and killer counter were the keys to todays success. The core players were also well supported by their bench support.

Let's hope that the crysis is behind us since on the 20th of November an important 7DAYS EuroCup match will take place at 20:00 against Buducnost VOLI Podgorica.
