After 10 days of being forcefully divorced from the court, Asseco Arka Gdynia is back in style. Coach Frasunkiewicz and his team, despite being weakened by the lack of Filip Dylewicz, Krzysztof Szubarga and Marcin Malczak, played it hard, fast and smart, winning in the Anwil Basketball Cup 2020 against the hosts - Anwil Wloclawek 86:62.
Despite it being a friendly match, the yellow-and-blues played aggressively, which coupled with the Rottweilers not being in spirit meant a winning match.
A great first half was played by Mateusz Kaszowski (7), followed by other youths: Marcin Kowalczyk (5), Michal Pluta (5) and Olaf Perzanowski (3).
The point leader of Arka was Przemysław Zolnierewicz (17), followed up by Bartłomiej Wołoszyn (15) and Wojciech Czerlonko (13). The best in Anwil was Ivic Radic (14).
A curious thing to be observed is that despite a smaller bench, Asseco played a very even game - 37 rebounds for both team, 31 to 24 for Gdynia in the defensive. Gdynia also lead in the attack, with a 65% accuracy in 2 pointer and 38% in 3 pointers.
In the first matchup of the tournament, Start Lublin won against Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Góra 70:59, and tomorrow at 16:00 it will be the Zielona Góra against Gdynia.
