As opposite to yesterday, Asseco Arka Gdynia did not enjoy a good second match of the Anwil Basketball Cup 2020. The yellow-and-blues could not find their way for three quarters, and after the first half they were loosing 33:49. It seemed that Gdynia will keep on fighting, but in the end, Arka Lost against Stelmet 59:86.
The best scorers for Asseco were Witlinski (15), Zolnierewicz (12) and Czerlonko (9), with the youth getting quite a lot of playtime in the form of Kowalczyk, Pluta and Marcinkowski.
Stelmet's best players were Lundberg (19), Groselle (12) and Berzins (12).
As before, Gdynia was doing well in the frontcourt (47 vs 37 in rebounds), but teamwork was lacking (14 - 21 assists) and had almost 29 losses against 13 losses of their opponents. This last statistic can be explained by the long time of play of the youths and the missing presence of Mateusz Kaszowski.
We come back from Wloclawek with a loss and a win, but soon, on the 30th of August at 18:00 at Gdynia Arena, a long awaited season commencement and the first league rival - Polpharma Starogard Gdanski.
