Despite the health issues plaguing Asseco Arka Gdynia, the team has successfully pulled through with their first match of the Energa Basket Liga and won at Gdynia Arena against Arged BMSlam Stal Ostrow WIelkopolski 74:64. Coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz and his team had some issues in the first and third quarters (16:21 and 16:19), but managed to overcome the odds by winning the second (22:15) and fourth (20:9).

A very good match for Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals), with good scores by Krzysztof Szubarga (12 points, 1 assist, 2 steals) and Bartlomiej Woloszyn (12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists) as well.

Since the beginning, both teams kept their cool and focused on positional attacks and position recovery. The guests were faster to take the lead, with a 4 point lead in the first two minutes. In response, Zolnierewicz scored a 2, followed up by Wyloszyn, which seemed like a good to follow through by Asseco. Unfortunately, Ostrow remained in the lead. The hosts lacked rhythm, with scoring being interjected with very weak game. Despite good points from Wojciech Czerlonko (5 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal), a three pointer from Filip Dylewicz (6 points, 4 rebounds) and a score from Igor Wadowski (5 points, 2 assists, 1 steal), the yellow and blues lost 16:21.

The next quarter saw Asseco gain on their opponent. Dylewicz threw a three pointer, followed up by a score from Mikolaj Witlinski (7 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block). Stal was only two points ahead, when Arka's play took a nosedive once again. Zolnierewicz fought through it, gaining 5 points in a row, with 8 total in the quarter to his name. The last dunk by Witlinski set Asseco with a 38:36.

Crisis struck again after the break. The first scoring throw came after 4 minutes from Witlinski, with a lengthy break soon after. Szubarga saved the day three minutes before the end of the third quarter with two quick three pointers. Asseco was a step behind Ostrow, 47:50. Another three points from Wadowski, another two from Zolnierewicz and the fourth quarter saw 54:55 for Stal.

The last 10 minutes were the best for the host, with Zolnierewicz, Szubarga and Woloszyn dominating the offensive. The youngest of them began the scoring and ended it as well. Asseco Arka Gdynia won at Gdynia Arena their first season match in the Energa Basket Liga 74:64 against Arged BMSlam Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski.

A short break and on the 14th of September, another strong oponnent: David Dedek and his Pszczolka Start Lublin.
