Asseco Arka has defeated HydroTruck Radom 76:70 at Gdynia Arena and are just one step away from entering the Suzuki Cup finals. Mateusz Kaszowski had a great match when he took over the role of the injured Krzysztof Szubarga.

For the last match of the first round of Energa Basket Liga, a team lead by Robert Witka has visited. Coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz and his team had an important task ahead - with their victory and the win of Zastal Enea BC Zielona Gora on Friday, their entry into the February Suzuki Polish Cup finals would be guaranteed. The stakes were at an all time high.

We started the match out with a high "C". Adam Hrycaniuk and Mikolaj Witlinski aimed well, along with team captain Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (8:0). The fun did not stop there. Thanks to a great defensive, only 6 points were garnered by the opposing team. The first quarter ended with 14:6.

After 13 minutes, our advantage grew to 14 points. From that moment on, however, the away team started putting in 3 pointers, which quickly became a problem. We maintained the lead - thanks to Mateusz Kaszowski - but the lead became only 35:31.

In the third quarter, Marcin Malczyk activated. The ever popular "Marian" put in 6 points, allowing us to enter into the last quarter with 58 points against 48.

The last quarter saw a focus on the defensive, which in our ranks remained ever tight. Jabari Hinds just couldn't get through. Kaszowski countered, with his total score for this match being 8 points and 8 assists. Asseco Arka defeated HydroTruck Radom 76:70 and are one step closer to the Polish Cup. The upcoming Friday will decide. Our next match will be next week at Starogard Gdanski (17:35).
