After an exciting match our team has outplayed MKS Dabrowa Gornicza 80:78. Karlo Vragović has had a tremendous match with 25 points to his name alone.

Gdynia has gone to Dabrowa Gornicza for the closing match of January. Both teams were in widely different places than when they met last time. At Gdynia Arena, MKS was one of the last teams in the league table - now, they are at the opposite end. The yellow-and-blues, meanwhile, are struggling to remain above water.

Karlo Vragović began the match like a dynamite. The Croatian forward showed confidence, aiming 4 three-pointers in a row. Mikolaj Witlinski and Filip Dylewicz scored as well, while our defenses held against the opponent. The first quarter saw us winning 23:15.

The game was not slowing down. Michal Kolodziej followed in Karlo's footsteps, aiming two three-pointers by himself. Adam Hrycaniuk was playing in the frontcourt and gave us more than 10 points. After 20 minutes, we were 45:31 ahead.

"The Beast" opened up the third quarter, but we soon hit a snag as Michal Nowakowski of the MKS has picked up speed. Our advantage was dropping fast, but Piotr Blechacz timed out for a quick motivation session. Bartlomiej Woloszyn aimed from afar, Jakub Kobel added a short-range throw and the last quarter saw us entering 55:66.

The atmosphere became nervous, our team started to lose confidence and a lot of easy mistakes were made. MKS continued playing very well, especially in the form of Milivoje Mijović and Andrzej Mazurczak. Even Vragovic's three-pointers were not enough. 240 seconds before the last call, a tie was established (73:73). The yellow-and-blues prevailed however. Igor Wadowski and Bartlomiej Woloszyn defended well, with many a steal being made. 21 seconds till the end, with 78:78 on the board, Wadowski made the last points. Lee Moore tried to even things out, but he missed.

Asseco Arka defeated MKS 80:78 and is almost certain to stay with the elite. Next match will take place on Sunday, 7th of February against Toruń.
