This year's Suzuki Puchar Polski has come to an end, at least for us. Asseco Arka has lost against Enea Zastal BC Zielona 68:90 and returned to Gdynia after a single match.

We went to Lublin without one of our core players: Filip Dylewicz, who was forced to stay home due to personal issues. That saw Piotr Blechacz and his team in a rather difficult spot of taking on the first league team without one of their own. Despite all, we managed.

Gdynia team began with a lot of energy and without much care regarding Zastal's title as the Polish champion. Adam Hrycaniuk scored 8 points in the start. Danish Gabriel Lundberg gave a swift reply. Both teams concentrated on defense which yielded a rather low score of 17:17.

Our opponents started to drift away in the second quarter. Lundberg continued being a problem, who scored 5 out of 6 throws made. Kris Richard added points as well. The ending belonged to Latvian Rolands Freimanis, who in a rapid succession scored 5 points. Hrycaniuk and Mikolaj Witlinski were the only ones on our side who seemed to possess good aim. It was not enough and when leaving for break, we were losing 30:43.

The yellow-and-blues did their best to regain the advantage, but ceter Geoffrey Groselle made that impossible. The heavy built backcourter capitalised on the fact that Hrycaniuk was getting tired and was taking over the ball consistently. Zastal was free to attack freely and jump ahead even further. Groselle, Lundberg and Freimanis were the main offensive forces, who decimated our team. Thanks to Marcin Malczak and Karlo Vragovic delivering some three pointers of their own, we were losing by 15 points at the end of the third quarter (52:67).

Despite the ambition and our best efforts, the match could not be won. Bartlomiej Woloszyn scored an impressive three pointer from the middle of the court, Vragovic was doing his best, but Freimanis ruled supreme. Coach Blechacz and his team lost against Enea Zastal BC ZIelona GOra 68:90 and are coming back home. We congratulate Zielona Gora and wish them all the best in the upcoming matches. Gdynia will see one more play this month - on the 28th of February we will face off against Enea Astoria. We count on your support!
