Coach Milos Mitrovic and the young players of Asseco Arkai garnered a bronze medal in the Polish championships U19 in Gliwice. Good job, gentleman!

In the final tournament 8 teams were divided into two 4-team groups. Two teams from each group advanced into the next round. In the first part, our team won twice: against Gdansk Gortat School Polytechnic (93:42) and the hosts, GTK Gliwice (70:69). In the third match, we lost to our neighbour, Trefl Sopot (84:94), but our scores were good enough to allow us to advance into the half finals.

There we met our opponent, whom we faced off against in the Polish Cup finals already. Wroclaw defeated us 64:47 in that fight. Now, the yellow-and-blues had an even bigger challenge to face due to the injuries of Michal Pluta and Maksymilian Formella. Both are definitely the pillars of our junior teams. Despite the smaller team, coach Mitrovic and his team fought against the Lower Silesians until the last seconds. One throw was all that it would take for an extension (77:79). The main players in that match among the Asseco Arka were Aleksy Janiec (15 points, 8 rebounds) and Antoni Michalski (14 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists). The younger players turned out well as well - Przemyslaw Kociszewski ('04) and Szymon Nowicki ('05).

The chance to acquire the bronze medal showed up the next day. This time, we fought against another Wroclaw team, WKK. The yellow-and-blues went all out in the second half, crushing the rivals and securing a win 87:58. Olaf Perzanowski and Michal Lis scored 15 points each, while Piotr Lis delivered 12. "Perzan" became one of the 5 best players of the whole tournament.

Another great year for our youths! To all our players and the coaching staff, we bow our heads and hope to see our players develop further.
